Just after celebrating the Honda Civic’s 50th anniversary, the best-selling sedan is set to reveal its most powerful addition ever. The 2023 Honda Civic Type R will make its world premier this week and is scheduled to be available in Honda dealerships in MA this fall.
Honda has already given us a short teaser on the Civic Type R and its prototype was recently spotted at Honda Indy 200, which was the Honda sedan’s first U.S. appearance. So far, Honda does done a good job at keeping the Civic Type R under wraps before its global debut. Yet, we can expect the new Type R to beat the 306 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque of the 2021 Civic Type R.
According to Car Scoops, a member at Civic 11 Forum has discovered that the Civic Type R will be available in five paint options. They consist of Crystal Black Pearl, Boost Blue Pearl, Sonic Gray Pearl, Rallye Red, and Champion White.
The Civic Type R is based around the latest Civic Hatchback, a model that has proven to be a step-up from its predecessor. In typical Type R fashion, the chassis code will be FL5 and will stand out with a host of styling and aerodynamic modifications, the most obvious being the fitting of a large rear wing.
Tune in for the reveal of the 2023 Honda Civic Type R July 20 at 10:00 P.M.
