2025 American‑Made Index: Nissan & INFINITI Recognized

This month, Cars.com released its much‑anticipated American‑Made Index, ranking all 2025 model-year vehicles on five criteria: final assembly location, U.S./Canada parts content, origin of engine and transmission, and manufacturing workforce. Out of over 400 eligible models, only 99 earned a spot. Nissan and INFINITI proudly placed six models on the list—an impressive display of American manufacturing commitment.

The Six Honored Models

1. Nissan Pathfinder – Ranked #20, assembled in Smyrna, TN, with strong domestic parts integration. Smyrna produced approximately 101,500 units in the previous year.
2. Nissan Murano – At #59, the mid‑size crossover has been built in Smyrna since 2020, with nearly 700,000 units built to date. The Nissan Murano was also redesigned for 2025 as well as recognized by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) as a Top Safety Pick +.
3. Nissan Altima – Placing #60, the popular sedan has been produced in Canton, MS since 2004, with over 124,300 Altima sedans assembled in 2024.
4. INFINITI QX60 – This luxury crossover landed at #65, built in Smyrna alongside the Pathfinder. Smyrna produced about 32,000 QX60 units last year.
5. Nissan Frontier – Ranked #71, this rugged pickup has rolled off assembly lines in Canton since 2012, with ~77,500 units made in 2024.
6. Nissan Rogue – Sitting at #98, the Rogue also hails from Smyrna, where roughly 143,800 were built in 2024.

What Makes It “American-Made?”

• Final Assembly in the U.S.: All six models are assembled stateside—Smyrna, TN for most, and Canton, MS for Altima and Frontier.
• U.S./Canadian Parts Content: High levels of North American-sourced components contribute to strong rankings.
• U.S.-Built Engines & Transmissions: Engine production takes place at Nissan’s Decherd, TN facility, further bolstering their index scores.
• Local Workforce: Nissan’s three Tennessee and Mississippi plants employ ~13,000 workers, with a combined investment of $14.9 billion.
