Jeep Teases its ‘Electrified’ 2022 Grand Cherokee 4xe
There is a lot to look forward to with the Jeep brand. In addition to the introduction of the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer and Jeep Grand Cherokee L, we now have hybrid version coming our way: the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe.
According to Car and Driver, the Grand Cherokee 4xe follows the footsteps of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe, which is available at Kelly Jeep Chrysler. We can expect the Grand Cherokee 4xe to be powered by the Wrangler 4xe’s stout gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain with a total system output of 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque.
On the outside, the Grand Cherokee 4xe has many similarities to its sibling, the three-row Grand Cherokee L. Sitting on a standard wheelbase, the hybrid charging port it located just ahead of the front driver’s side door. There is also a revised C-pillar design, along with an extra chrome element under the lams that reside with the SUV’s lower fascia.
The appearance of the unveiled 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is part of a bigger picture. Jeep’s parent company, Stellantis, has plans of making several electric vehicles moving forward.
Stay tuned for the grand reveal of the new Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe at the New York Auto Show, August 20, 2021
