Attention all hockey fans – the U.S. Women’s Olympic Hockey Team has not just one, but two ties to Woburn, MA. According to the Woburn Patch, the team’s assistant coach, Courtney Kennedy, is a Woburn native and current resident, while the youngest player on the team, Caroline Harvey (pictured), 19, is the daughter of a Woburnite.
Harvey grew up in Salem, MA, but her father Dave Harvey is a longtime resident as well as a Cummings Center Properties Employee.
“I’m excited for Caroline to enjoy the wonderful opportunity that she has worked for hard for,” Dave said in a statement released by Cummings. “She has been skating since she was 3 years old, and her drive and determination have paid off.”
Following the Winter Olympics, Caroline will play for the University of Wisconsin.
Courtney Kennedy, the team’s assistant coach, won a silver medal at the 2022 Olympics and a bronze medal in 2006. She is also the assistant head coach of the Boston College women’s hockey team and sits on the executive board of USA Hockey.
